The Reykjanes Peninsula
In Reykjanes peninsula the mid Atlantic ridge rises from the ocean. More than half of the peninsula is covered with lava flows, some of which are only a few hundred years old. We start by visiting boiling mud pool s and hot springs. Then we drive through the village of Grindavik to the bridge between the continents. We also stop by Sandvik, the filming location of Clint Eastwood's movie "The Flag of Our Fathers". Then we head for the lighthouse on the westernmost tip of the peninsula with rich bird life in the summer.
Then we drive to the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing bath
